Handprints

Senior year of high school, we were in AP English together and we had to fill out an information sheet about ourselves, exchange them at random, and write a poem about the other person. I was stupid and going for the funny/fitting in/cool thing to do and kind of made a joke poem. But the one that Todd wrote for me was so beautiful and thoughtful that I still have it to this day. Todd’s mind was always so full and he had a way of getting his thoughts from his mind on to paper that I always envied.

Trying to Understand Suicide
Anyone wanting to learn more about suicide or struggling to gain closure should read the chapter on suicide in The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression by Andrew Solomon. This book has been especially helpful to us.
