In Memory of Todd Curtis Ransom

In Memory of Todd Curtis Ransom (1982-2010)

Today, July 11th, is Todd’s birthday.

He would have been 29.

Almost a year ago, on July 19, 2010, our beloved son, brother, and friend took his own life at Battle Creek Canyon near Pleasant Grove, Utah, after a long and painful battle with depression.

We love you, Todd, and we miss you every single day.

Todd would go to 7-11 on his birthday every year to get a free slurpee, since his birth date is 7-11. Today we’ll probably pick up a slurpee too.

Happy birthday, Todd.

Trying to Understand Suicide
Anyone wanting to learn more about suicide or struggling to gain closure should read the chapter on suicide in The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression by Andrew Solomon. This book has been especially helpful to us.
